"We expected the prices to be higher than last week's because the international prices were higher," said Daniel Mbithi, a spokesman for Kenya Coffee & Traders Association, or KCTA, "But we were all happy at the end of the day because the prices are still very good."
Mbithi said supply is satisfactory and is expected to continue that way for at least a month.
A report from KCTA said a total of 17,006 50 kilogram bags were sold, compared with 17,628 of the previous auction. The average price at the auction was $218.44 a bag, compared with $218.63 at the previous auction.
