Poland: high supply of dessert strawberries

Despite the unfavourable weather for cultivation of strawberries, their supply on the market is big at the moment. Prices of dessert strawberries are from 1.50 PLN (0.33 euro)/kg and to 3.50-3.75 PLN (0.77-0.82 euro)/kg.

However the maximum prices concern the variety Marmolada intended for export market. The variety Honeoye is the cheapest. The supply of industrial strawberries is much lower. Prices of such strawberries are so low (0.60-0.80 PLN (0.13-0.18 euro)/kg for strawberries with stalks and 1.10-1.50 PLN (0.24-0.33 euro)/kg for strawberries without stalks) that producers are not picking them.
