New Castle Grants Juice Importer Stimulus Funds

New Castle County has granted a juice importer at the Port of Wilmington $15.5 million in federal stimulus bond money. The County Council approved the funds Tuesday night for Citrosuco North America Inc., which wants to build more apple juice storage tanks at the port.

The expansion is expected to create 21 new jobs and more than $100,000 in additional income for the port. The project is expected to be complete by September.

Citrosuco operates four tanker vessels that carry orange juice concentrate to Wilmington several times a year.
